There will be a remodeled Nissan Titan coming to Bradenton, Florida, but don't hold your breath, as it won't be quite as soon as expected. The official date for Titan's facelift has been pushed back until 2014. Available in regular, crew and quad cab variants, Titan will remain on dealer lots, though its changes body (which was supposed to premier in late 2012) won't see the light of day until later in 2013.
The close of the year is typically when major automobile makers release new models. However, this year's tragic earthquake that struck Japan, as well as a tsunami which occurred after, put a stop to scheduled production. One of these aftereffects is the delay of full-sized pickup truck redesign set for 2014. Nissan has agreed to temporarily shift Titan construction to Mexico. It should head back to Japan within the next year.
"We will come out a little later now," said Nissan executive VP for vehicle planning and program management Andy Palmer at the Los Angeles Auto Show. "I made the decision."1
