support the democratization of knowledge and information and transform people
from content consumers to content producers.

28% of online teens say they use code words on a daily basis to hide online
conversations from their parents
More than one fourth (27%) of teens report that they have talked online about
sex with someone they have never met in person
81% of parents of online teens say that teens aren't careful enough when giving
out information about themselves online and 79% of online teens agree with this
65% of all parents and 64% of all teens say that teens do things online that
they wouldn't want their parents to know about
About one-third of youth (34%) admit to regularly communicating online with
people they did not know in person
Over half (51%) of parents either do not have, or do not know if they have,
software on their computers to monitor where their teenagers go online and with
whom they interact.
Internet Fraud and Scams
Internet fraud uses online services to present fraudulent solicitations
to prospective victims, to conduct fraudulent transactions, or to transmit the
proceeds of fraud to financial institutions or to others connected with the
scheme. Internet fraud can occur in chat rooms, e-mail, message boards, or Web

What is Facebook?
Facebook is a social networking website launched in
February 2004 and operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. Users can add
people as friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to
notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized
by workplace, school, or college. The website's name stems from the colloquial
name of books given to students at the start of the academic year by university
administrations in the US with the intention of helping students to get to know
each other better. Anyone age 13 or older can become a Facebook user.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is a social networking and micrblogging service that
enables its users to send and read other user messages called tweets.
Tweets are text-base posts of up to 140 characters
displayed on the author's profile page. Tweets are publicly visible by
default, however senders can restrict message delivery to their friends list.
Users may subscribe to other author tweets - this is known as following
and subscribers are known as followers.
What is YouTube?
YouTube is a video sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view
videos. You Tube is a subsidiary of Google. The
company is based in San Bruno, CA, and uses Adobe Flash technology to
display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including
movie clips, TV clips, and
music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos. Most
of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, although media
corporations including CBS, BBC, VEVO and other organizations offer some of their material
via the site, as part of the YouTube partnership program.
